A little about me…

I love to cook – a friend told me she loves to see me when I’ve cooked something of my choice. It makes me happy. Cooking is an amazing creative outlet. One you can really share with others. Not just to look at, but to eat. Enjoy.

I love music – I love to listen to it, play it (on my acoustic guitar), sing it (privately). Playing my guitar for God is like dancing out loud.

I love children – Most people would tell you that I was born to be a mom. In general, I find that people grossly underestimate children.

I love to dance – Not for people, in fact I’d prefer away from people. I love to dance for God, and with God.

There is more to me of course, but these are a few major passions in my life right now.

Blog Worthy?

What makes a life, an event, or what ever, blog worthy? That is, what is “interesting” enough to be published on the Internet for the world to see?

Recently a friend asked why i hadn’t blogged in so long. I told her that i hadn’t done anything all that interesting. In response she listed off a list of things that i have done recently that people don’t normally get to do on a regular basis.

Is it possibly that in an effort to not brag about ones day to day activities that you can over look how fortunate you are to get such an opportunity?

Since my last post I have quite a job. A job that I love, and that pays pretty well. Not many people can say that about a job, and even fewer people would think of giving up such a job. Why would i quite? I have been blessed with great friends. When my friends needed me, I went. I left my job with enough money saved up to go to the other end of the country for 3 months.

So lets look at what we’ve got so far… A great job, great friends, and a 3 month break from small town Alberta.

I had an awesome time. I went to support my friend, and ended up being so encouraged and lifted up. Lifted up by people that I had never met before. i (apparently) am easy to get attached to. I adopted myself a new grandma, who was surprised that someone my age had things to teach her.

Now I am back “home” (home is a very fluid term because i am a military kid), trying to get back into my life. I start back at my great job in September. Praise God, they called me first! I can’t fixed anyone else’s life, i can only offer my love. I am getting on with my life. Meeting new friends, and getting to know old friends better. I am letting life come to me, instead of trying to chase it around.

I am happy. I have people that love me. I am able to do a job that I love, that makes it so I have a roof over my head, and food in my belly. I live in one of the wealthiest countries in the world. I am blessed, and i plan on continuing to pass on the blessings in my life.

Who even does that anymore?

i recently failed a second road test simply because i couldn’t parellel park. why oios that still a manditory part of the test? do people stil even do that? no one that i know does.

GRR.. what a rediculous thing to fail someone over!

Well i suppose i am long past due needing to blog again…

Life isn’t what i hoped it would be. i suppose there are just too many variables that are out of my control.

i need some time away from life. and so i will be leavin for the east coast in march. don’t know how long i’ll stay. but i hope to come back with my head a little more level.

My train of thought derailed once again.

The little distractions that make my thouhgts vanish.

Few and far between are the truely brilliant life altering thoughts that make some cry make some laugh make me want everyone to read my mind and fully know understand the processes i my head are valid not like yours valid non the less

Where is MY prince charming?

There have been many thoughts in my head. I haven’t figured out to write them down. My future has been planned out mentally many times. Each time with different stuations, different locations, and often different people. Each stroy-line seems to be based around a fairy-tale romance, and usually ends with a wonderful engagement. Once i get “engaged” The story is over and I have to plan out my life with the next “prince chraming”. In the past 2 years i have “dated” an old aquantence, a teacher (from the university i should be attebting right now), a friend, and a neighbor. Some people have a few senarios, and others have had just one series of events.
The media has conditioned me to expect a romantic guy, who excepts my fault’s and requires little “training”.

I am a hopeless romantic, with nothing to do but dream up my perfect courtship.

Where is MY prince charming? I want to start building my dreams on reality!

another thought about my name

So, I have no middle name… or do I? It’s hifinated, so techically it’s part of my first name right? So how do I fill out paper work? Last name, First name, Middle name; K……. , Jonetta-Anne, ? First name, middle initial, last name; Jonetta A K……. What of my diploma has the wrong version? does it mean “i” didn’t graduate? How many of “me” exist? Jonetta-
Anne K…. , and Jonetta Anne K….. , and Jonetta A K……. . Hmm …. So is anne my middle name or part of my first? Why have my parents left me with this dilema. Should people call me Jonetta-Anne on a normal basis. I am perplexed. What is my name? My fist name, my middle name, my name a s a whole.

Alas, i shall never know. I will go on in life and not know how to fill out forms.

In the search for a name for my blog/wordpress page I decided to do some resaerch about the meaning and background of my name. Unfortunatly, having a rare name means that it is not in many name/name meaning dadtabases. I did find many “similar names” though. Some are odd, some are outragios, and some are animals!

One website (www.behindthename.com) tells you the language/country, gender, pronounciation, and the root name or what word it came from. Here are some names that “sound similar”: Janetta (feminine; english; Elaborated form of Janet), Jonette (feminine; norwegian/english;Feminine pet form of John), Yewande (feminine; Yoruba; Means “mother has returned” in Yoruba), Gennadiy (masculine; Russian; Russian for of Gennadius (which is greek)). Janetta: ironic that it is an elaboration of Janet, because that is the one nick-name I loath. Jonette: again ironic, my dad’s name is John. Yewwenda: once more with the irony, I am a very nurturing person (mother-like you could say). Gennadiy: i learned from following many links that it may be derived from a greek word meaning “noble, generous”.

At this point in my research, it sounds like my parents made a good selection. Next I tryed my beloved Encarta encyclopedia. Again I found no direct link to my name, but one very interesting item. Genetta (Genet); they are a small carnivourous mamals. There is no similarity here though, other then we both seem odd.

I am no more educated about my name now then I was before my “research”. I am, though, slightly more enlightened about this place we call earth
